About this tool
Use the large keypad, keyboard or paste to calculate with arithmetic, parentheses, decimals and percent. Calculations use exact fractions and round only the final result to the chosen decimal places. Locate errors in the original input. Page history restores expressions and their precision and percent settings, and clears on reload or leaving.
How to use
- Choose decimal places and a percent rule, then enter an expression.
- Calculate or press Enter. If an error appears, locate it and edit the expression.
- Copy the current result, reuse an expression from page history, or clear everything.
Frequently asked questions
How are decimals and recurring results handled?
Decimal input becomes exact fractions, so 0.1+0.2=0.3 and 1/3×3=1. Only the final display rounds to 0–30 decimal places, default 12, with ties away from zero for both signs. Approximate results show ≈. Copy includes only the displayed number.
What does percent mean?
Mathematical percent always divides by 100: 200+10%=200.1. Relative mode changes only an entire percentage on the right of + or −: 200+10%=220 and 200−10%=180; multiplication and division are unchanged. In 200+10%×2 the right operand is a product, so the result is 200.2, while 200+(10+5)% is 230. Recalculate after changing the rule. History retains the original rule.
Which expressions and limits are supported?
ASCII digits, +-*/%, parentheses, decimal points and whitespace are allowed, including ×÷− aliases. Signs and ordinary precedence are supported. Functions, variables, exponents, assignment, scripts, modulo and implicit multiplication are not. Defaults allow 1024 characters; a number allows 256 digits, parentheses 64 levels, and intermediate numerators/denominators 4096 digits. Oversized input is rejected without truncation.
How do continued calculations and history work?
After a result, an operator from the keypad or keyboard wraps the previous expression in parentheses before continuing, preserving precision and precedence. A digit starts a new calculation. Click the expression to edit in place. AC or Esc clears the current calculation, Clear history removes records, and Clear all does both. Only the latest 50 successful results are kept; errors are excluded and reuse does not calculate automatically.
Are inputs stored or scripts executed?
Expressions, results and history are not uploaded. No eval or dynamic functions are used. The parser accepts only the limited numeric grammar. Data stays in page memory and clears on reload, leaving or clearing. Only client-reported run status, duration and checked expression counts are reported. Input errors such as division by zero are not engine failures.
