Frequently asked questions
Does lossless enlargement recover true detail?
There is no guarantee. AI estimates detail and may alter text or faces. Lossless PNG encoding avoids additional lossy compression; it does not prove factual recovery.
Which models are available?
The 2× tool offers Upconv7 / CUnet for art and Upconv7 for photos, with 1× denoising and 2× enlargement. Super resolution uses native 4× SwinUnet and resizes AI output for 2× / 3×. Both offer TTA.
What are the limits?
Up to 3 images (the admin may lower this), 2.07 megapixels, 20 MB and 4096 pixels per side each, 60 MB total. The model downloads on first use. Higher enhancement takes longer. Reduce image size or enhancement after a timeout. Requires a modern browser and HTTPS, not a server GPU.
What happens to transparency and metadata?
EXIF orientation is applied and output is re-encoded as sRGB. PNG / WebP retain transparency; JPEG uses the selected background. Original metadata, animation and professional HDR / ICC workflows are unsupported.
