About this tool

Export an existing PDF text layer to TXT for reuse or cleanup, choosing pages and optional page separators. Image-only scans require OCR first. Reading order in columns, tables and special fonts should be reviewed manually.

Can it recognize text inside images?

This tool reads an existing text layer without OCR. Use an OCR tool first for image-only pages.

Does TXT preserve PDF layout?

Fonts, images and full table layouts are not preserved. Check extracted order, especially in multicolumn documents.
