Is the volume just set to zero?
No. Audio tracks are removed from the exported file.
Will video quality or the original change?
Original mode copies video without re-encoding and leaves the input unchanged. MP4 mode re-encodes and may round odd display dimensions down to even pixels. Up to one hour per video.
