About this tool

Inspect supported metadata in JPG, PNG and WebP images in your browser, including camera details, GPS, XMP, IPTC, ICC, comments and embedded thumbnail presence. Search by group, keep the format or export PNG/JPG/WebP, and verify each cleaned image. Visual orientation is preserved; images are converted to sRGB without resizing.

How to use

  1. Add static images, switch files, and search or filter supported metadata.
  2. Choose an output format. JPG offers quality and background settings; PNG and WebP use lossless encoding.
  3. Click Clean metadata, then compare, recheck, download or immediately delete the files.

Frequently asked questions

What information is removed?

EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, embedded thumbnails, comments and source ICC metadata are always removed. EXIF orientation and sRGB color conversion are applied before encoding fresh pixels, followed by structural container verification. Visible text, watermarks and locations photographed or drawn into pixels are not removed.

Will orientation, dimensions or quality change?

Visual orientation and pixel dimensions are retained without resizing. Orientations 5–8 swap stored width and height to display correctly. Colors are converted to sRGB. PNG and WebP encoding is lossless; JPG re-encoding may slightly change quality. Choose PNG or WebP to avoid additional JPEG loss. JPG uses the selected matte for transparency; keep-format defaults to white.

Where is metadata read?

Before cleaning, fields and previews are processed only in your browser. Cleaning uploads originals and output options to Python. Comparison temporarily reads the task originals and results; GPS and author values are not saved in permanent statistics. Files can be deleted manually and expire within 24 hours.

Why is some information unavailable?

Fields may be malformed, unsupported or too large. The interface displays at most 200 fields and 500 characters per value, with metadata size, decompression and time limits. Missing fields may still exist. Valid images can still be independently cleaned, and output containers are checked separately.

Are batches and phones supported?

Desktop and mobile support up to 20 static JPG/PNG/WebP files, 80MB per file, 200MB in total, 20 megapixels per image and 16384px per side. Administrators may lower limits. Failed images are reported separately; successful results can be downloaded individually or as a ZIP. Animation is unsupported.
