About this tool
Create website favicons and avatars online. Drag a square crop from a static JPG, PNG or WebP, select square or transparent circle styling, inspect actual 16, 32 and 48px previews and 8× pixel details, then choose PNG and ICO sizes. Coordinate controls, 50-step undo/redo and reset are available. The original and crop history stay in page memory; generating uploads only the selected icon images.
How to use
- Add an image and drag the selection or corners. Draw a new crop or enter pixel coordinates.
- Choose square or circle, smooth or pixelated resampling, inspect small previews and select output formats and sizes.
- Generate and download individual PNGs, a multi-size ICO or ZIP. Delete temporary files after downloading, or let them expire within 24 hours.
Frequently asked questions
Which output sizes are available?
PNG supports 16, 32, 48, 64, 128, 180, 192, 256, 512 and 1024px. ICO supports 16, 24, 32, 48, 64, 128 and 256px. Administrators may lower the output cap. Each PNG size is a separate file; ICO embeds selected sizes together. Multiple results include a ZIP.
Do circular avatars retain transparent corners?
Yes. A circular alpha mask is rendered separately at every output size. PNG and ICO preserve alpha. Checkerboards and controls are excluded. This tool does not remove backgrounds; the background inside the crop remains.
Why inspect the 16px preview?
Fine details may blur when reduced. The 16, 32 and 48px previews use actual CSS pixels; an 8× view lets you inspect pixels. Magnification does not improve resolution. Outputs larger than the crop display an upscaling warning.
How do I adjust the crop and restore edits?
Move the selection, drag corners or draw a new square. Arrow keys move one pixel, or ten with Shift. Corner handles support keyboard resizing. Center keeps the current size; largest uses the shorter source edge. Undo/redo retains up to 50 steps. Reset keeps the image; refreshing discards history.
What gets uploaded and how long is it kept?
Adding images and editing settings run in your browser. The original and crop history are not uploaded. Generate uploads only the selected icon images and format options for PNG and ICO packaging. Metadata is removed. Temporary files can be deleted manually and expire within 24 hours.
What are the limits?
One static JPG, PNG or WebP. Both the original and generated upload must fit 80MB. Sources allow up to 20 megapixels and 16384 pixels per side; administrators may lower these limits. Enable at least one format and select sizes. Animation is unsupported. Software installers are not generated.
